An installation about the ongoing self-monitoring of young creatives.
With the increasing influence of social media among young creatives, the pressure of forming a professional identity has become more present than ever. It is a necessity in becoming a professional, but it can, and often does, cause stress and it comes with a great deal of pressure. The answer to who you are as a creator can only be found within yourself. Therefore creatives, especially young creatives, are constantly asked to closely reflect on themselves.
With the installation Insight Inside Esmée Bruins and I invite you to step into the shoes of these young creatives. The installation plays with the expectations of the viewer. It looks as if there is something happening inside. However, when you take a look, the viewer is confronted with his/her own appearance.
